What a frustrating loss for the Mets.
Boy the Mets have at least 3 fat boys on their team. Maybe get themselves in better shape and then they can compete with everything on the line.
Can we get Alonso some help? He’s a headcase and he’s highly scouted. Every pitcher uses the same strategy [if they’re slightly prepared]. Bust him inside [and way out of the strike zone where it almost hits him] and he usually bites due to the fact that he’s guessing on most of his swings and/or his swing takes to long to get into the hitting zone so he has to start it early. The 2nd pitch is even worse. Alonso is like “Since they busted me inside, are they going to throw the outside slider [out of the strike zone] or do they expect me to think it’s going to be a slider so they’ll bust me way inside?” Aren’t there any coaching staff members to tell Alonso this and to help him shorten his swing until ALMOST every pitcher uses this strategy successfully at a 75% success rate?
Vogelbqch is a power hitter, but OMG, he knows he can’t run, and most times, when he runs for second, he is out. He needs to be smarter than that. He thinks he is Lindor. I wouldn’t have a designated hitter on my team, so unathletic
