I’m guessing that all the Japanese players of note (Ohtani, Senga, Yoshida, etc) are not featured here because they are not Asian *American*.

These players are great, but they are Japanese-born citizens. AAPI stands for Asian American Pacific Islander, meaning Americans of those nationalities. I mean no disrespect to Japanese-born baseball players, some of them are my favorites to watch, but the acronym refers to American citizens who are Asian.
