he New York Mets continue their aggressive bullpen overhaul this offseason, agreeing to a two-year, $22 million contract with reliever Luke Weaver. ⚾🔥

The 32-year-old right-hander reunites with Devin Williams, who also made the move from the New York Yankees to the Mets, as the team looks to replace star closer Edwin Díaz, who departed for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After struggling early in his career as a starting pitcher, Weaver successfully reinvented himself as a high-leverage reliever with the Yankees. Over the past two seasons, he emerged as a versatile and reliable late-inning option, making him a key addition to the Mets’ bullpen for the upcoming season.

With these moves, the Mets are clearly signaling their intent to compete at the highest level heading into the 2025 MLB season.
