BIG MISTAKE By The Umpire 🤯😱

MLB

This is a baseball short showing a mlb game in the postseason of playoff. The umpire makes a big mistake by making a bad call and the Padres were not happy. I personally dont think it was a strike either and I think the ABS challenge system will be used a lot next year. Great highlight moment with baseball not a home run but a strike out for sports fans to see.

  1. These people are supposed to be professional. How you can miss a call this much? Angel Hernandez rule.

Seriously though, my son’s baseball team had a game where the ump did not show. I seem to recall he had gotten sick. Having everyone there and having to leave bothered me, so I volunteered to call the balls/strikes. No one else stepped. I think this was like 16 and under.

I have no training whatsoever, but I can see. I thought, how hard can this be?

So the other team’s pitcher comes out. He is a MONSTER, easily 6’2″ , and he can throw. I’d guess the fastballs were low 90s. Remember, I’ve never done this before. All I have on is a mask. I am literally hiding behind the catcher, trying not to die.

The pitcher is getting angrier and angrier, cussing at me, at the ground at the sky. So I call time and have both coaches meet me on the mound where I simply told them I was not a professional, looked at the pitcher – you scare the heck out of me, but no more cussing.

Looked at the coaches and said, what do you want to do? They called the game and would reschedule it. Seriously though, when someone is throwing as hard as they do in the ML, hats off to the umpires.

But the umpires do need to up their game.

  2. Helmet tapping ONLY in spring training.

  3. Look where the ball was compared to his knee, it technically is a strike. The strike zone on the live stream is not accurate to the players actual strike zone. I agree that was a bad call and I’m a Cubs fan, I would just suggest look at where the pitch ended and where his knee is

  4. This is why I am all for robo umps. Maybe keep the ump behind the plate with an earpiece that tells the ump whether it is truly a ball or strike.
