This is true. But he also has very little to no pop, which is not what you want to see in your first baseman. He’s also a very slow runner on the base paths, so yeah, he draws walks and hits singles, but then he just clogs up the base paths. And I’m a Giants fan, BTW.
With the Acuña deal…what are you talking about. Hindsight!? That was a CRAZY risky deal for ATL. For Ronald he gets LIFETIME financial security for his family and he’s a FA at 31 and can do a 5-7 year deal then. You think his ’19 and ’23 seasons were a given? It’s like every fan has forgotten Chris Davis’s contract and the 100+ other bad 100M bad contracts that have destroyed MLB teams and their chance to win.

Orioles traded for a legit #1 last season in Burnes. They have been to back to back playoffs. I don’t think they are ready to settle for anything other then another #1 starter for 2025. I am holding out hope that Sasaki goes to Seattle or San Diego and the O’s trade for Cease or Castillo. I would also like a trade for Valdez but I don’t see the Astros doing that now. Lastly if they could somehow resign Burnes that would be the answer as well but I am not sure they can stretch the budget that far for 7 or 8 year deal.
You’re wrong!! First off,LUIS ARRAIZ is a natural second baseman but cabnot protect JUAN SOTO with his bat. So,yes, METS trade for ARRAIZ to play 2b and re-sign ALONSO for first base and to protect JUAN SOTO.
It was about time that CHEAPSKATE STEARNS re-signed MANAEA.The job is incomplete until PETE gets re-signed. Also there’s the bullpen issue where STEARNS could sign either TANBER SCOTT or JEFF HOFFMAN instead of sticking constantly his head in the MLB dumpster to sign very cheap low tier players.
Arenado and Goldschmidt’s declines were a big reason the Cardinals were bad last year. So take them, make them a year older, and then people expect them to improve the Yankees? I’m confused.
Why on earth would the Nats trade Wood and Abrams for Cease who’s a rental too?! Wood is a stud and Abrams is an all-star caliber SS. Must be Padres fan.
Baltimore gets Lopez, SF gets Castillo (unless the Dodgers get Arenado, in which case Dodgers get Castillo for Rojas and Muncy and SF hopes they get Sazaki or Burns or Cease).
Toronto signs Bregman, signs Burns (or trades for Lopez or Cease), trades Bichette for Correa (possibly in a 3-team deal), trades Vlad to Mets for Vientos (and Marte?). Toronto needs to get beyond the Bichette/Vlad drama but quick!
Zero chance the Mets trade away 5 years of Vientos for 1 year of Vlad. Vientos’ value right now is much higher than Vlad. And Mets aren’t going to add Marte to a deal just to dilute the value, in fact they go the other way and completely pay down someone’s salary to reduce talent return to the other team
If Detroit signs Bregman i bet they would move Jace Jung back to his natural position at second base, and Colt Keith would then platoon with Tork at first base.
