Of course the official MLB YouTube doesn’t show the two egregiously bad caused by the ump before the Two home run. The first one was a bad call for strike 1, the second was an egregiously bad call for strike 2.
Give Carey a night off. Is Mike Shannon still alive?
John Moe needs to go!
Absolute nail biter
Strike one and two on Teo before the homer were both ball 4. The second being the most egregious call of the year so far in my opinion. I about exploded. Then he tied the game! Thanks UMP!
Seattle Mariners:
I attended this game. Good all-around game. The defense was strong. And a perfect illustration as to its importance. You did not allow your opponent to score over 3-runs until the 9th inning. And you contained the damage to one run. Great job.
This was an interesting matchup between, Luis Castillo -v- the St. Louis Cardinals. Ya… The Cardinals know him very well because he pitched for the Reds, and the Reds are in the same division. Therefore, the Cardinals scoring production was not a surprise. Again…the Mariners, entire organization did a great job controlling this game.
Offensively:
I thought that the seventh inning was a perfect illustration/blueprint of offense production. Moving forward.
First of all, the lead off batter, Kolten Wong, draws a walk to gets on base. With no outs. I don’t care how you get on base. Just get on base.
And then the second batter gets on base. Now there are runners on first and second with Julio Rodríguez at the plate. Yes… This is exactly the offensive situation that you want. Even though Julio did not hit the ball far enough to center field, to advance the runners. That was exactly what you wanted to do. Again, great at bat production/strategy.
Now, Ty France is at the plate. He plays, “small ball”, to advance the runners to second and third, with two outs. Again, great at bat production/strategy.
And then the next batter hits a double or a single. And two runs score. Yes, yes, yes…. That’s championship baseball. And that’s what the Houston Astros do on a consistent basis. Ya, they have perfected that style of baseball. And over the last five years…. We’ve seen the end results. Therefore, that is the level of offense, that the Mariners want to consistently play.
It’s amazing to me that DeWitt sticks with Mozeilak. Neither of them has a clue on pitching. Year after year, they throw millions into the Mississippi going after has been or never was pitchers. I’ve stopped going to Busch stadium and I’ve stopped watching them on TV. As long as Mo is involved, it will stay that way.
I’m almost there with you but if this continues the remainder of the season and nothing changes… we gotta stop giving DeWitt and Mo our money until it changes. I won’t be holding my breath
The M’s showed what the timely hitting is all about. Jared Kelenic continued to stay hot and he is absolutely saving the baseball right now.
I hope Tommy Edman gets it going again after that home run.
The Seattle Mariners Announcer Ginx Machine is a real thing. Sometimes I wish they would just not say anything at all.
?????????????????????????????????????
Omg Cardinals !!!
When cardinals lose everyone wins
No when the Yankees lose
Let’s go Mariners!
This was a great win. Castillo had an off night and the offense got key hits and the pen was amazing.
