Unsung heroes of this game: Taisei, who relieved without problem on the top of 9th; Genda, the shortstop who played with a broken pinky and made a sacrifice bunt; and that crazy fast pinch runner Shuto who scored the game-winning run.
You know, I’m glad Team Mexico was visibly sad and disappointed. Because it shows they wanted it, that the WBC actually MEANT something to them. For years baseball has been on the decline in popularity. This is my first time watching the WBC and I’m so fired up. So many amazing, heart-stopping games throughout the tournament. I really hope that baseball sees a surge of popularity after the WBC.
