@AARON AGUÍLAR Lefties play first because their glove hand is facing the infield. Lefties didn’t play catcher due to a right handed batter getting in the way of his throwing motion. Now it seems as if there are teams stacked with left handed hitters where a right handed hitters wouldn’t matter.
I’ve seen Yadi snap throw to first base with power and accuracy, so I don’t see what the deal is with a lefty throwing to third.
righties can play any position. lefties are basically limited to pitcher, first base, and outfield. if a lefty plays infield, they would have to turn their whole body around to make the throw to first base , which takes up a few seconds. in baseball every second counts. same thing with catching. a left catcher would have a hard time throwing out a runner going to 3rd base, since he also would have to turn his whole body around to make the throw
